Event Title: The Cascade Jazz Trio
Saturday, March 7, 2009
Time: 7:30 PM EST
|
Jazz-The Cascade Jazz Trio <http://www.cascadejazz.com/> establishes itself as the "house band" for Valley Center Stage. The trio provides a creative blend of standard, modern and original jazz, served up with energy and elegance. Musicians John Chmaj, Brian Gmerek and Courtney Crawford" make up the trio and they often have great guests 'sit-in' with them.
This month: Saturday, March 7th, 7:30 pm: Cascade Jazz Trio presents "Tribute to the Modern Jazz Masters"
The Cascade Jazz Trio will present a special performance of music exclusively by three of the most important composers in jazz history: Thelonius Monk, Ornette Coleman and Wayne Shorter. These three all 'pushed the envelope' of the jazz style in their eras, and their pieces are exciting, unique and somewhat dangerous to perform (!) We've chosen some of their most famous pieces, alternately swinging, intimate, quirky and always compelling. Join us for this special, creative event!
